Council member of the Association for the Study of Medical Education (ASME) in the UK and in 2003 was also elected to the ASME Executive.
Member of the executive committee of the Association of Medical Education in Europe .

Interest in assessment and learning/ health & social care/practice placements/higher education

Longstanding interest and expertise in the areas of assessment of competence, professionalism, inter-professional education and widening access and participation.  Published papers on inter-professional education, disabilities and assessment and contributed to the QAA document on benchmarking in medicine.
